A few months into fruition, birnam is our little plot of cyber earth. Birnam is the wood that sits above my Grandad's old farm in Perth, it is the same wood that marches towards MacBeth on the eve of his capitulation. It was always a place of terror/wonder when we were kids. My sister and I decided to start this blog as a means of expressing our creative interests- for me it was about developing my photography.
Up until now I have been a little reluctant to add any written content to my own photography- however I believe it is important to provide a little context to the work that I post and discuss the inspirations that drive me to pick up my camera each day.
At the moment, I am shooting in film. I was getting pretty fed up rattling off 40 or 50 digital shots and only getting two that I liked so went back to using my Dad's old Canon and have really enjoyed the results.
I like to photograph a lot of things; whether it is beautiful light, a delicious plate of food or a patch of dewy grass- as long it catches my eye and gives me that pulse of excitement I am happy. Over the next few months I am looking to give myself some quite specific projects and add a bit of direction to the site.
